Specification of Iron Plain Concrete SNI 8mm x 12 Meters
Concrete iron, also known as reinforcing steel, is a steel rod or steel wire mesh used in reinforced concrete and masonry structures that serves to strengthen and hold concrete against the load received, as well as to improve the quality of the bond between concrete. Based on the surface of the concrete iron is divided into two, namely, plain concrete iron and screw concrete iron.
The purpose of reinforcement is to provide additional strength to the concrete where it is required. By inserting concrete iron into concrete castings, it is intended to be able to provide resistance to traction and increase overall strength. Steel provides all the tensile strength where the concrete is under stress, as in beams, it complements the compressive strength of concrete in columns and walls; and provide extra shear strength in and over the concrete blocks.
In terms of appearance, plain concrete iron has a circular cross-section with a smooth/slippery surface structure without fins or threads with an elongated round shape without any additional variations.
